One of our favotite in Nemea

As part of our wine tour in Nemea we booked a visit to Barafakas winery through winedering.com. It turned to be one of the best wineries we have visited. We had an excellent host and we met briefly with the owner Mr. Christos Barafakas, who comes from a family with a long wine-making tradition. He established the current winery about 20 years ago and it is now one of the middle-sized wine makers in Nemea. They have an impressive variety of labels, thus a comprehensive degustation is recommended. From the whites we liked the Malagousia and the very good Chardonnay, which were followed by syrprisingly good roses (the Three Witches!!). And, of course, great Agiorgitiko reds. The tasting was a real pleasure and we had a very informative doiscussion (part of our small group were winemakers themselves). Thus, altogether it was a wonderful experince which we recommend to anuyne who tours the region.

Une superbe expérience de dégustation ! Des vins remarquables, présentés avec passion et simplicité. On repart avec l’impression d’avoir découvert une véritable histoire plus qu’une simple sélection d'étiquettes. Chaque vin a été mis en valeur avec délicatesse et profondeur. Merci pour ce moment privilégié… et une dédicace toute particulière à Élisabeth pour son accueil généreux et sa passion communicative.

The place is very nice. The hostess was really kind - and we really liked the wines we tried and got them with a lot of explorations ..
