About the Winery
Bessich Winery, founded in 1959 by Antonio Bessich, is a family-run vineyard in the heart of Friuli’s "Grave" region. This winery has thrived across generations, with Antonio’s son Luciano expanding the business, and today, Luciano’s children, Daniela, Alessandra, Roberto, and Fabio, carrying the family legacy forward. The estate are in western Friuli, in an area with gravel soil, ideal for producing wines of distinctive character. Their commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation has made them a renowned name in the region, offering visitors an authentic wine experience.
About the Wines
Bessich Winery offers a divers selection of wines, all produced with care from vine to bottle. Their portfolio includes sparkling varieties like Prosecco Spumante Brut and Ribolla Gialla Spumante Brut, as well as classic whites such as Pinot Grigio, the tipycal Friulano and Verduzzo; other white are special selection of aromatic wines: Puart Sauvignon and Codes Traminer Aromatico. Their red wine range includes Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and typical grape of Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, in their classic versions, matured in steel tanks, and in the more mature versions aged in oak barrels: Forcjates Cabernet Franc and Tavieles Refosco; up to the 'il Tornielli Rosso', a refined wine, matured in tonneau barrels, a blend of the three red wines grown on the estate, each showcasing the region's unique terroir. Additionally, the winery produces a variety of sweet wines, such as Verduzzo, Bacche Rosse and Bacche Bianche, each crafted with passion. Recently, two wines produced with blends of grape varieties resistant to fungal diseases have been added, the so-called PIWI, their names are 589 Lavoreit Bianco and 589 Roberetum Rosso.
