Bodegas Lozano

Winery in Rioja, Rioja Alavesa, Álava

About the Winery

Bodegas Lozano's journey began in 1853, when the Lozano family planted their first vineyards in Villarrobledo, mainly of the Aíren variety, native to the area. Since then, four generations have led a solid and continuous path of learning. Our testimony is the commitment and a tribute to the effort, constant work, tenacity, and discretion that have characterized our family for more than 160 years, when we began to grow vineyards and produce quality wines.

The estate has gone through different stages that have forged what it is today: a benchmark and professional family business within the international wine sector that is committed to adapting to new times through new products and formats.

About the Wines

In Villarrobledo, since 1853, everything is linked to the land and our origins. We are backed by a legacy of three previous generations by maintaining traditions in the vineyards, pampering them with care and dedication, because they are the essence of all our wines. The plantations in the La Carrasca, La Elipa and Los Salvadores estates rise under humble soil, of sober production, which gives the best of itself in each vine, in each grape grain, which is harvested at the optimum moment of maturation. of the pulp and aromatic; for sparkling, white, rosé and young wines, as well as phenolic and sensorially for red wines aged in barrels and bottles.

Settled on an extensive plain at 740 meters of altitude, with prolonged exposures to the sun, little rainfall and experiencing high temperatures in summer contrasted by low temperatures in winter, the fruits of the plants of 15 varieties; Airén, Bobal, Cabernet- Franc, Cabernet- Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Garnacha, Macabeo, Merlot, Moscatel, Shiraz, Tempranillo, Sauvignon-Blanc and Verdejo, are the protagonists of our still and sparkling wines, made inside an embraced building by erect fired clay sheets, reminiscent of clay jars, with small grooves that reinforce its dynamism thanks to its inclination and surrounded by a sustainable garden with rustic and wild touches.
