About Winery and Wines

“Ca’ Piadera has an adventurous character. It all began a few years ago when I bought an abandoned derelict farmhouse that was completely covered with plants and shrubs. Through sheer determination, I have renovated the farmhouse which dates back to the 19th Century, and have faced and won considerable difficulties and battles along the way; but have always been rewarded by the views of the beautiful landscapes, charm and atmosphere of this place. I work and live surrounded by vineyards, sharing daily plans, hopes and visions of the future with the people in the company who now represent my family. With them we share the strong feeling of satisfaction we get from our guests and I can finally say that what was once only a dream has taken shape.
This is why I continue to believe in and be happy on this adventure”. The farmhouse retains the old name ‘Piadera’ and is now beautifully restored, surrounded by vineyards and the silence of Larch, Chestnut, and Acacia woodland. In place of weeds and scrub, there are lawns, climbing roses, flower beds and a herb garden with mint, valerian and lemon verbena. Managing the activities of the farm and behind every bottle of wine is a team of dedicated people who work with a smile on their faces and with enthusiasm in their hearts for the project they all believe in. Ca’ Piadera is recognised as an agricultural company that produces its own wines and food: salami, sopressa (cured pork salami), ossocollo (fried spiced pork meat) and ham from home reared pig, chickens and rabbits. It has a reputation for its kitchen where all the pasta and bread are fresh and homemade every day and where the aroma of ragu sauce fills the air. Ca’ Piadera is a place well known for its kind welcome and authentic eating experience where you are able to feel the sincere relationship between the land and traditions.

Our vineyard is located in Resera, north of the Arfanta hills of Tarzo where you find forests of larch, acacia and chestnut trees. Our Glera vines grow amongst these with large bunches of yellow-golden fruit which guarantee a scented and sweet perfume. It is on these hillocks we produce Prosecco Superiore Extra Dry DOCG and Brut Prosecco Superiore DOCG, maintaining traditions that local elders have had for decades: pruning vines, removing the excess branches (or, as we say in our parts, sbamboar to guide the sap of the plant up to the summit), plant the cuttings after the winter has passed in place of the plants that no longer produce grapes. All is strictly done by hand, the harvesting of the wine mingles the joy of the work and a fulfilling fatigue to honour each grape individually. Our production of Cabernet Franc IGT is of equal importance, its fruits are the result of the rediscovery of this vine on the banks of the Piave. It is an ancient variety of grape from the Gironde estuary in the north of Bordeaux, which is now almost forgotten in France. The wine has a distinct personality, an intense ruby red color and a herbaceous aroma with notes of black pepper and fruits of the forest. Our Cabernet Franc was awarded bronze in the world wine awards from Decanter in 2015.
