About Winery and Wines
La Biòca is a small winery nestled in the prestigious Langhe zone, with vineyards located in Monforte d’Alba (Bussia, San Sebastiano), Novello (Ravera), La Morra (Castagni & Croera), Barbaresco (Secondine, Ronchi), and Roddino (Corini). Covering a total of 16 hectares, 8.6 hectares are currently in production, while 7.4 hectares in Roddino will be planted over the next two years.
The winery, located in the Fontanafredda subzone of Serralunga d’Alba, features a large production facility, two spacious warehouses, an underground cellar, and a tasting room with an impressive terrace. Visitors can also enjoy the on-site agriturismo, offering six comfortable rooms, creating an immersive experience in the heart of Langhe’s winemaking tradition.
Cantina La Biòca offers a diverse range of wines that highlight the traditions of the Langhe region, including well-known varieties like Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Arneis, and Muscat. The winery also showcases more rare autochthonous varieties such as Favorita, Freisa, and Pelaverga, alongside selections from old vineyards like Barbera d'Alba Superiore and Barolo Riserva, as well as several Crus of Barolo and Barbaresco.
In addition to producing white and red wines, La Biòca offers two rosés—one still and one sparkling—and is experimenting with the fermentation and refinement in amphorae, with the first results soon to be available. The name "biòca", derived from the Piedmontese dialect, refers to a decisive person with a "tough head," symbolizing the winery's dedication to expressing the region’s excellence through their wines.
