About Winery and Wines

Cas’Amaro started in the Lisbon wine region, with a 5 hectare vineyard planted on a small hillside near the Atlantic, about 12 km from the sea and within easy reach of Lisbon. That first site soon became more than a vineyard. It hosted our early winery and the first Cas’Amaro accommodation concept, an idea that still defines us today, where wine, place and hospitality belong together.

Over time, the project expanded to five regions and five distinct terroirs: Vinhos Verdes, Douro, Dão, Lisboa and Alentejo. This journey reflects our curiosity for Portugal’s diversity and our respect for its native grape varieties. We farm organically and work with minimal intervention in the cellar, always aiming for dry, elegant and gastronomic wines, guided by a simple rule: quality over quantity.

What truly shapes Cas’Amaro, however, are the people behind the scenes. In the vineyard, experienced and young winegrowers work side by side, combining tradition with a modern, thoughtful approach. In the cellar, our winemakers are given the time and precision to intervene as little as possible, so each wine can carry the identity of the place where it was born and of the hands that made it.

Today, guests can experience this philosophy through guided visits and tastings at Cas’Amaro Lisbon Winery, where architecture, design and art are part of the story and where our passion for wine is shared at the table, in context, and with a genuine sense of hospitality.

Cas’Amaro wines are a tribute to Portugal’s native grape varieties and to the diversity of our landscapes. We craft wines across five distinct regions, always with the same intent: to let each place speak clearly through freshness, balance and identity.

In the vineyard, we follow an organic approach and keep intervention as low as possible, protecting local ecosystems and encouraging biodiversity. In the cellar, we work with minimal intervention and a precise, thoughtful touch, aiming for dry, food friendly wines with clean aromatics, vibrant acidity and balanced alcohol. The result is a portfolio that values clarity over heaviness and authenticity over excess, wines that feel true to their origin and made to shine at the table.

Each region adds its own voice to the Cas’Amaro story. In Vinhos Verdes we focus on bright, energetic whites. The Douro brings structure and depth, with reds and whites of presence and character. Dão contributes elegance and mineral tension. In Lisboa, where the project began, our wines are certified organic, shaped by Atlantic influence and a natural sense of freshness. In Alentejo, currently in organic conversion, we craft wines with generous texture and layered complexity.

Beyond the bottle, Cas’Amaro is also an invitation to experience wine in context through visits and tastings, hospitality and wine tourism that connect vineyard, cellar and table.
