Cascina Adelaide

Winery in Langhe, Barolo

About the Winery

Cascina Adelaide is an underground cellar nestled at the convergence of two slopes, bordered by a small stream and concealed beneath a heavy glass blanket. As you approach, the glass rises, offering a glimpse into the winemaking process where grapes undergo fermentation and transformation into wine.

Cascina Adelaide was born from a dream—Amabile Drocco's dream. In 1999, at the age of 57, he left the mechanical company he had founded in Alba to his two sons and dedicated himself to his greatest passion: winemaking. The estate is a tribute to his father, a farmer of a bygone era, symbolizing a return to the land and continuity with family traditions. It is an act of love and respect for the Langhe region.

In January 2021, Amabile’s granddaughter, Chiara, who had just completed her engineering degree, joined the company. Now head of Cascina Adelaide, Chiara has inherited her grandfather’s deep love for the Langhe and its fruits. Under her guidance, the

About the Wines

Cascina Adelaide was founded in 2000 at the foot of the medieval castle of Barolo and boasts 12 hectares of wonderful vineyards, of which 10 are exclusively of Nebbiolo da Barolo with eight historical "cru" in 5 different towns in the area of Barolo. The remaining 2 hectares are planted with traditional varieties such as Barbera, Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto di Diano D'Alba, and Nascetta (the estate's only white grape variety, autochthonous and ancient in the area of Novello).

Personal, informative and with heart
The owner (in Italian) and his daughter-in-law (in English) gave us a lot of information with a lot of passion.
The very personal tour with a subsequent tasting of real rarities as well gave us a wonderful afternoon.
Anyone who values something special – Barolo rarities – is in the right place here!

Tasting at Cascina Adelaide
We had the pleasure of doing a tasting at Cascina Adelaide and it was a truly memorable experience.
The winery is splendid, cared for down to the smallest detail.
Grandfather Amabile's story was the heart of the experience: engaging, authentic, and full of emotion.
His contagious friendliness made everything even more pleasant.
The contributions of Giuliana and Francesco were just as valuable, adding expertise, warmth, and attentiveness at every moment of the visit.
We left fully satisfied, with the feeling of having experienced something special, not just a simple tasting.

Impressive Experience
We were lucky to have booked our tour on the first day of the grape harvest, which made the experience even more special. We were impressed with how much passion and love for
detail this winery is run with.

The wines at the tasting were excellent, all the employees we got to meet were very friendly and the view is of course absolutely brilliant.

We recommend everyone who has the chance to take the time to visit Cascina Adelaide. Thank you very much for the great afternoon!
