Nestled in the scenic valley formed by the Montsant and Gritelles mountains, Gritelles Winery is located in the heart of the Priorat region, where the Siurana River begins its journey. Our vineyards are rooted in a landscape marked by clay, rolled pebbles, racorell, and limestone soils, drawing out the essence of the Montsant and Serra de les Gritelles territories. We are dedicated to producing wines that reflect the unique characteristics of this extraordinary terroir, with a focus on traditional grape varieties such as Macabeo, Grenache, and Carignan.
At Gritelles Winery, we take pride in our rigorous selection process, particularly for our semi-aged and aged wines, which are crafted from the best grapes harvested from old vines. Our meticulous barrel vinification process allows us to harness the power of time and natural micro-organisms, ensuring that each wine we produce embodies the authenticity and depth of our land. Visitors to our winery can expect to experience the true spirit of Montsant through our exceptional wines and the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Gritelles Winery offers a diverse range of wines that capture the essence of the Montsant region. Our Gritelles Manou is a young and fresh red wine made from Grenache Noir and Carignan, harvested from the El Manou and El Molí vineyards at altitudes of 500 to 600 meters. This wine undergoes a short aging process on its lees for 6-8 months, resulting in a vibrant and approachable red.
For those who appreciate more complex flavors, our Gritelles Siurana Negre is an aged red wine made from the same grape varieties but aged for 12 months in oak barrels. This wine offers a deep, balanced taste with hints of the Montsant terroir.
Our Gritelles Argenterà Garnatxa and Gritelles Argenterà Carinyena are both single-variety wines from old vines, aged on lees in barrels for 18 months. These wines highlight the powerful and nuanced characteristics of Grenache Noir and Carignan, respectively.
We also produce white wines, such as the Gritelles Vedrenyes from Macabeo grapes, known for their freshness and complexity after being aged on lees for 8 months. Additionally, our Gritelles Siurana Brisat and Gritelles Macabeu Tros de la Serra are unique orange wines made from Macabeo, with extended skin contact and aging in oak barrels, offering a rich and distinctive expression of the Montsant terroir. These wines, particularly the Macabeu Tros de la Serra 1714, are crafted with no added sulfites, emphasizing our commitment to natural winemaking.
