Champagne Charles Pougeoise
(Winery in Champagne, Côte des Blancs)
About Winery and Wines
Champagne Charles Pougeoise is located near Châlons-en-Champagne, in the ancient medieval town of Vertus, classified as Premier Cru. It has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1890. Nestled in the heart of the prestigious Champagne region, this family-owned winery is renowned for its commitment to quality and tradition. Employing sustainable viticulture and traditional methods, they produce a range of exquisite Champagnes, including brut, rosé, and vintage varieties.
Champagne Charles Pougeoise cultivates its 10 hectares of vines with care and develops each vintage with family know-how passed down for six generations. In 1954, Charles Pougeoise decided to become independent. He left his father Henri's wine estate and created his own business with only 53 acres of vines. In 1976, driven by the desire to create his own brand of Champagne, he left the cooperative and founded Champagne Charles Pougeoise. Having become a Harvester-Manipulant, he devoted himself to the production of authentic and typical champagnes, thanks to his own facilities. In 1991, Sandrine Herregods, Charles' daughter, took over the reins of the estate. With her husband, she perpetuates the family tradition with the same passion and the same know-how. Charles has been able to get closer to his clients by supplying prestigious institutions such as the Sorbonne, the Faculty of Medicine of Paris, the Faculty of Law at Malakoff, the Paris City Hall and several French embassies around the world.
