About Winery and Wines

According to the legend, in 1810, the Duke of Chambord, who fell in love with the nature of this place, built his hunting estate here. Being a passionate fan of roosters ' fighting, he gave it the name of Eperon (spur on the leg of a rooster, in French) - CHÂTEAU L'ÉPERON The image of the rooster, as the main symbol of France, is a symbol of the Château and you find it on each bottle of wine produced. After visiting this winery, a group of close friends and family members from different part of the world decided to convert the Château in a dream of their lives. A new history of Château L'Éperon begins. It combines a unique place with a long history and international experience. We would love to share with you "PASSION THAT BRINGS FRIENDS TOGETHER

Blend: 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon,10% Malbe

Only French oak aging 12 months

The wine is deep, ruby-red, harmonious, and fresh, with aromas of cherry, blackberry, pomegranate, and black currant, with light notes of roasted hazelnuts and vanilla. The taste is balanced, and soft, with fine tannins and a long silky aftertaste.

Alc.: 14%vol.

Serving temperature: 15-18 degrees

Pairing: côté de bœuf, lamb chopsticks, cheeses with character, duck breast  

CHÂTEAU L’ÉPERON Base red wine of the Château

Blend: 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon

Tradition Boudreaux style

French Oak barrels 6 months

The wine is ruby-red, gastronomic, and balanced, with aromas of red berries and fruits, and light woody notes. The taste of the wine is structured, with a silky texture, rounded tannins, and a fruity-spicy aftertaste.

Alc.: 14%vol.

Serving temperature: 15-18 degrees

Pairing: steak, lamb, burger, dishes with berry or cream sauces, cheeses with character 

MADAME L’ÉPERON Rosé wine of the Château

Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot

Mechanical harvesting at night to preserve low temperatures

Crushing, de-stemming and pressing

Cold stabilization

Aging on fine lees for 1 month. 

Rosé has a beautiful pale color and reveals the aromas of strawberries, redcurrant and grenadine. On the palate, it is complex and balanced with a nice fresh length.

Alc.: 12.5%vol.

Serving temperature: 10-12 degrees

Pairing: Light summer snacks, prawns and seafood, grilled fish, salads, non-aged cheeses, fruit&berries

CHÂTEAU L’ÉPERON white Blend: 100% Semillion

Terroir: limestone clay

Average age of the vines: 20 years, single vineyard wine

Planting density: 4 500 vines/ha

Vinification and maturation: vinification in stainless steel vats, aged 3 months on fine lees with stirring every two days Alc.: 12.5%vol.

Serving temperature: 5-8 degrees

Pairing: white meat dishes with lemon sauce, fish, ceviche, asparagus
