Cortese Beatrice
About the Winery
My name is Beatrice Cortese, I was born in 1994, and my grandfather was a winegrower. My family's connection with wine dates back to the 19th century, when my great-grandfather bought his first plots of land, and continued thanks to my grandfather, who made wine his business. Production was then interrupted when my parents decided to pursue other paths. This is the first reason why I became interested in the world of wine: to ensure that all that work was not forgotten.
At the age of 19, I began my journey by studying every aspect of wine with enormous curiosity. This curiosity led me to experiment with harvesting grapes at home, to graduate from the AIS (Italian Sommelier Association), to live in cities such as Milan and New York, to work in Michelin-starred and other restaurants, and finally to the Banca del Vino in Pollenzo. Throughout all these years, the idea of a winery remained alive in my thoughts, so in 2016 I began construction works, and in 2023 I officially opened it in Neive, in the heart of the Langhe.
About the Wines
Today, my winery is a small company with only 1.69 hectares and 10,000 bottles produced. The size allows me to work in the vineyard, in the winery, and manage visits from enthusiasts, with the help of my dad, to be honest.
In 2019/2020, I decided to reconnect with the typical grape varieties of the area, planting Barbera and Nebbiolo.
I produce five kinds of wine, four made from Nebbiolo grapes and one from Barbera grapes.
