About Winery and Wines

Domaine de la Charbonniere is a familial estate located in Rhone Valley area.

Eugene Maret bought this winery in 1912 as a gift for his wife as she was the daughter of a winemaker. Fernand Maret enlarged and worked on the estate before Michel Maret, the third generation of the family, took over the winery. He was the one who gave the winery its current name, which means the area for coal burning. Michel still works here, but since 2014, the next generation, Veronique and Caroline, have taken the responsibility of the business.

The winery owns around 17.5 hectares of vineyards in Chateauneuf du Pape appellation, 2 hectares in Cotes du Rhône, and 6 hectares in Vacqueyras.

We produce 1 Red AOP Côtes du Rhône,  1 red AOP Vacqueyras, 1 White AOP Chateauneuf du Pape and 4  Red AOP Chateauneuf du Pape
