Domaine Philippe Raimbault
About the Winery
Philippe Raimbault inherited his winemaking expertise from his grandfather Lucien and his father Maurice, and today he is proudly passing on this family tradition to his daughter, Perrine.
At the heart of the estate lies a deep passion for crafting wines that bring genuine pleasure to the senses. Committed to preserving the land for future generations, the team at Domaine Philippe Raimbault works in harmony with nature, producing wines that are both healthy and authentic.
Since 2015, the estate has been Terra Vitis certified, a mark of sustainable viticulture shared by a network of winemakers who uphold strong values of respect for the vine, the grape, the soil, and the people.
The winery follows strict guidelines for environmentally responsible practices. As knowledge and climate conditions evolve, so does the estate’s dedication to progress, with continuous efforts to craft wines that meet the highest expectations.
About the Wines
Domaine Philippe Raimbault's Sancerre wines are produced on the steep hillsides surrounding the village of Sury-en-Vaux.
Pouilly-Fumé comes from the clay-limestone terroirs of the appellation, in the commune of Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain. Coteaux du Giennois is harvested on the hillsides of Saint-Père, overlooking the Loire River and the town of Cosne-sur-Loire.
Sauvignon is the grape variety for Sancerre blanc, Pouilly-Fumé, and Côteaux du Giennois blanc. Pinot Noir is the grape variety for Sancerre rouge and rosé. Coteaux du Giennois rouge is composed of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Gamay.
The soils are based on a geological foundation dating back to the Secondary Jurassic period. It contains marine fossils over 130 million years old. You can discover a collection of them on display in the cellar. Our underground cellar is located at the foot of the superb Godons terroir, in the pleasant setting of the village of Sury-en-Vaux.
