About Winery and Wines

Domaine St Laurent de Saurs is a testament to family passion and the courage to embrace innovation. Founded in 1999 by Laurent, who began his winemaking journey at the young age of 17, the estate has grown from humble beginnings into a respected name in the Tarn region. Originally, the wines were sold directly to trade, allowing Laurent to hone his skills through hands-on experience. By the age of 23, Laurent officially launched Domaine St Laurent de Saurs, with his first bottled red and dry white wines. Over the years, the winery has continually modernized, updating equipment and building new cellars, all while staying true to its roots. Today, the estate produces nearly 20 different cuvées, with a quarter of its production dedicated to bottled wines. Located in the picturesque town of Lisle-sur-Tarn, the estate is not just a place of production but a destination for wine lovers seeking authenticity and the charm of a family-run vineyard.

Domaine St Laurent de Saurs is nestled in the heart of the Gaillac wine region, where it benefits from the diverse terroirs of Lisle-sur-Tarn. The vineyard, beautifully positioned on the right bank at the foot of the slopes, is home to an impressive array of grape varieties. For red wines, the estate cultivates Braucol, Duras, Prunelard, Syrah, and Gamay, while white wines are crafted from Muscadelle, Loin de l’œil, and Mauzac. This rich selection allows the winery to produce classic Gaillac wines that embody the true essence of the region. In addition to these traditional varieties, Domaine St Laurent de Saurs also grows international grapes like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. Always pushing the boundaries of innovation, the estate has recently introduced Marselan and plans to release new cuvées featuring Mourvèdre and Prunelard as mono-varietals. The latest exciting development is the planting of Riesling, an Alsatian variety, adding a unique dimension to their diverse portfolio.
