About Winery and Wines

Claire and Stéphane Trichon proudly carry forward the legacy of their family estate, which has been passed down for three generations. Located in the picturesque Bas-Bugey region, on the banks of the Rhône in the Ain département, the estate spans over 13 hectares of organically cultivated vines. Since converting to organic farming in 2008, Domaine Trichon has embraced a philosophy of sustainable viticulture, ensuring that the land and the wine it produces are nurtured with respect for nature.

Our commitment to organic farming means that only natural products are used to protect our vines. We rely on small doses of copper, sulphur, and plant-based remedies like borage, comfrey, and nettle, all of which bring numerous benefits to our vineyards. The planetary influence is also carefully considered when it comes to vine work and winemaking decisions, making our approach both holistic and mindful.

At Domaine Trichon, we believe that great wine begins in the vineyard. By combining our love of plants, generations of expertise, and a deep respect for the environment, we produce wines that truly reflect the terroir of the Bugey region. Located at the foot of the Bugey mountains, our estate offers a peaceful, scenic escape, yet remains close to major cities such as Grenoble, Lyon, Chambéry, and Bourg-en-Bresse.

Domaine Trichon offers a diverse range of still and sparkling wines, all produced in accordance with organic farming principles and proudly bearing the AOC Bugey designation. Our portfolio includes:

White Wines: Crafted from Chardonnay and Altesse, our white wines showcase the finesse and freshness of the Bugey terroir, offering crisp acidity and subtle complexity.

Red Wines: Made from Mondeuse, Pinot Noir, and Gamay, our red wines reflect the rich and diverse expressions of the region’s indigenous grape varieties, with vibrant fruit notes and structured elegance.

Rosé Wine: Our rosé wine is fresh and lively, with delicate aromas and a refreshing finish, perfect for warm, sunny days.

Sparkling Wines: We produce a selection of sparkling wines, including Extra-Brut, Brut, Rosé, and our special cuvée "Secret," all meticulously crafted using traditional methods for a fine, elegant mousse and lively effervescence.

Alcohol-Free Wines: For those who prefer a non-alcoholic option, we offer sparkling zero-alcohol wine and pure grape juice, retaining all the flavor and essence of our organic grapes.
