A hotbed of creativity

1/1/24
Wines, meads, melomels, cysers and more. I had to look up what some of their offerings were. During COVID lockdown, they started providing wine education live on Fb, where you could learn and ask questions live. They are still doing this (1/24). Very knowledgeable and engaging staff. A story with every bottle.
More pairing advice. This level of creativity requires additional guidance or a commitment to experimentation. The wines are so good, I opt for the latter.

I was on a family vacation and 5 of us went to the winery. The staff was amazing. Very knowledgeable and engaging. We had a great time at the tasting. I would recommend going if your in the area. We all walked out with a few bottles of wine. Thanks for a fun time.

Excellent customer service, extremely knowledgeable staff, great wine. What more could you want? Went in on a whim not knowing much about the winery, and ended up doing a tasting and leaving with a couple bottles. I will also say I'm new to drinking wine and I was treated very well and offered helpful advice. Thank you Hermit Woods Winery!

This was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday. The tour was about an hour and was very interesting. It was all inside the area where they actually make the wine so it is perfect no matter what the weather is like. After the tour we got to taste a variety of their wines. It was a lot of fun. The place is cool, the people are passionate.

About Winery and Wines

Founded in 2011, Hermit Woods Winery is a small boutique winery producing fruit wine, meads, and ciders. “Our wines and ciders are local (as much as possible), vegan (except the honey wines), gluten free, raw, and made from non-certified but mostly organic fruit. We always use whole fruit, never use heat, and always use gentle hand processing. Our wines, meads, and ciders are made with minimal to no chemical adjustments or additions and are styled after the classic dry European grape wines”. Hermit Woods sees over 8,000 visitors at its tasting room every year, and its wines are available throughout New Hampshire and direct to consumer in 37 states.

Old world character meets new world fruit—each of our award-winning and handcrafted wines is made from a unique combination of locally sourced fruit, honey, and flowers, in some cases wild-foraged. Our process is devotedly hands-on from vine to bottle, using old world techniques with the highest level of care and integrity. The result is wine with rich, complex flavors. All of our wines are vegan (with the exception of honey wines), gluten-free, raw, and mostly organic to Best Management Practices—and an excellent accompaniment to a variety of foods. The care and creativity that goes into our wines has resulted in Hermit Woods becoming one of northern New England’s most sought-after artisan brands. If you can’t visit us at the winery, you can find our award-winning wines for sale at select, independently owned liquor stores and restaurants throughout New Hampshire.
