About Winery and Wines

The company Julia Kemper Wines started in 2003, when Julia Melo Kemper, a lawyer in Lisbon, accepted her father’s challenge and decided to take on a family heritage that dates back centuries - the passion for wine! This was the start of Julia Kemper’s wines, at Quinta do Cruzeiro, Oliveira - Mangualde, where the vines grow on a high plateau protected by high mountains, with roses and olive trees along the borders. A true biodiversity ecosystem!

The vineyards of Julia Kemper Wines are located on top of hills between 300 and 500 meters, and up to 700 meters, mostly granite, but also shale, quartz, and silica. Winters are wet and cold, and summers are hot and dry. As a result of the wide harvest, the fruit ripens slowly and develops complex flavors.
