Our Wines – A Singular Expression of Place
At La Closerie de Fronsac, we produce only red wines, in keeping with the traditions and regulations of our appellation. But within this framework, our approach is both precise and deeply personal.
We work exclusively with Merlot, the emblematic grape of the Right Bank, which finds in our clay-limestone soils a perfect balance between power and finesse. But rather than blending parcels, we have chosen a different path — one that highlights the individual identity of each plot.
One plot, one tank, one wine.
Each micro-terroir is harvested, vinified, and aged separately, allowing it to fully reveal its unique character. Some vines grow on steep slopes with excellent drainage, others on deeper soils with more structure — and we believe each deserves its own voice.
This parcel-by-parcel approach allows us to create wines that are not just expressions of Merlot, but of a specific place, a specific soil, and a specific year. The result is a collection of singular wines, each with its own personality — some vibrant and aromatic, others deep and contemplative, but all true to their origin.
