About Winery and Wines

Tucked away down a little alleyway in SW6, the London Cru Winery is based in an old Victorian warehouse which was once a gin distillery. Whilst our surroundings are historic, innovation is at our core and we house precision temperature-controlled tanks and state-of-the-art winemaking facilities.

London Cru is owned by Cliff Roberson and was the first urban winery in London opening in 2013.

Since its launch, many of the London Cru wines have won prestigious WineGB and IWC awards and are listed in numerous Michelin-star restaurants in London and beyond. The estate has shown the world that quality wines can be made right there in the Capital!

As part of the estate's new vision for London Cru, since 2017 its grapes have been exclusively sourced from English vineyards. Excited about the future of English wines, they love being the London heart of this movement. In the coming years, London Cru will continue to demystify wine and bring excitement to the London wine scene.

In 2023, London Cru acquired Foxhole Vineyard in West Sussex, marking an exciting new chapter for the winery. The 20,000 vines, primarily Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris with a small plot of Bacchus, will ensure a steady supply of high-quality fruit for future vintages. This acquisition allows London Cru to maintain full control over the production process, from vine to glass, elevating the quality of their still wines. Unlike many UK producers who focus on sparkling wines, London Cru is committed to crafting premium still wines and pushing the boundaries of winemaking in the UK.

Situated less than 50 miles from London Cru's urban winery, Foxhole Vineyard represents the winery's ambition to innovate and refine their unique approach to winemaking. Winemaker Alex Hurley emphasizes this as a key step in raising the quality and diversity of still wines produced in the UK, further distinguishing London Cru as a leader in the industry.
