About Winery and Wines
Montevecchio Isolani, located in the Emilian Apennines, has a rich winemaking history dating back to the 16th century. The estate, led by Gualtiero and his family, combines tradition with modern techniques to produce wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Colli Bolognesi. Covering 13 hectares, the vineyards focus on sustainable, organic practices to cultivate Grechetto Gentile, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The estate’s commitment to quality is evident in every step of the winemaking process.
Montevecchio Isolani crafts wines that embody the essence of the Colli Bolognesi, with a focus on DOCG Pignoletto and DOC Rosso Bologna. Utilizing modern technology and traditional methods, they preserve the natural aromas and flavors of the grapes. Their whites are gently pressed to maintain freshness, while reds undergo fermentation in stainless steel and are matured in concrete tanks and French oak barrels. These practices ensure wines of complexity, elegance, and respect for the land’s heritage.
