Nikoladze Winery

About the Winery

In the heart of the Georgian countryside Imereti, wine making has been a sacred tradition for centuries. Inspired by the memory of our forefathers who once grow vineyards on these very slopes, our family set out to create our own winery. We revived the vineyard, nurturing native grape varieties such as Tsolikouti, Tsisqa and Sapere. Every vine was planted with care, and every grape is hand-picked at harvest, ensuring the highest quality of wine.

In Georgia, wine is traditionally made in qvevri, large clay vessels buried underground. This ancient method, dating back over 8,000 years, allows the wine to ferment and age naturally, in constant contact with the grape skins, seeds, and stems. The qvevri’s unique shape and natural temperature regulation create wines with rich, complex flavors, earthy tones, and a distinctive character that reflects the terroir and centuries-old winemaking traditions.

At our estate we also provide accommodation. In our Guesthouse, nestled among lush vineyards, you could enjoy private wine tastings, guided tours of the winery, and perhaps even participate in seasonal harvest activities.

We offers exclusive wine tours that provide a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Georgian wine making and discover its centuries-old traditions. During the tour, guests will enjoy a tasting different white and redwines, each with its own story and character, reflecting the unique local grape varieties and the region’s distinctive climate.
