PAROS FARMING COMMUNITY

Winery in Aegean Islands, Cyclades, Paros

About the Winery

Originating in Paros island, SEIRADI embodies the spirit of the local Farming Community. Meticulous craftsmanship highlights its birthmark. PFC is partnering with proud and persistent vine growers to bottle exclusive wines for curious minds.

The island was first mentioned in the local press as a tourist attraction back in 1945, and it is now considered among the internationally recognized tourist destinations. It has, however, an even older identity. It was a glorious ancient city-state, characterized mostly by its lyrical poets, its sculptors, as well as its productive agriculture and animal husbandry. Archilochus mentions its barley, its cattle, and its viticultural products in the 7th century BC.

The people of Paros are connected to their land on a primitive level, and this is due to its great geological age. The smooth topography, with the mountain masses rising in the center of the island, generously gave the population vast and fertile fields for cultivation. The relationship between producers and land was to gradually, after the passage of decades, take the shape of a living cell in a society that evolves.

It all started in the 1920s, when the first cooperatives appeared in various regions of the island. What followed was a fermentation that drove the cooperatives to unite and evolve from simple suppliers of fertilizers and animal feed to producers of wine, cheese, and olive oil. Since then, the cooperative has been the main expression of Paros’ farming identity.

After almost 100 years of operation, the cooperative is now inextricably intertwined with the social fabric of the island. With the goal being to always support the farmers of the island, the cooperative turns the page and adapts to the demands of the modern market. Historical continuity requires an investment in the future. This means modernizing the equipment in a way that will upgrade the production quality in the winery, in the cheese factory, and in the olive press. However, the main concern of the Paros Farming Community is to train its members. Through the training and specialization of its people, the identity and value of the island’s agricultural products will strengthen. The new plan is inspired by the past and romantically sets out the next steps to highlight how unique Paros’ produce is.

About the Wines

Nestled in the heart of the Cyclades, Paros Farming Community (PFC) is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the island’s unique viticultural heritage through its indigenous grape varieties, Monemvassia and Mandilaria. Working closely with old, ungrafted vineyards scattered across Paros’ coastal slopes and mountain terraces, PFC crafts wines that express the authenticity, salinity, and character of the Aegean terroir.

Over recent vintages, the vineyards have faced increasingly challenging climatic conditions, including prolonged droughts, reduced rainfall, and accelerated growing seasons. Yet these challenges have highlighted the remarkable resilience of Paros’ historic vines. Naturally adapted to the island’s harsh environment, they consistently produce low yields of highly concentrated fruit, delivering wines of exceptional intensity, balance, and sense of place.

PFC’s philosophy is simple: respect the vineyard and intervene as little as possible in the cellar. Every harvest reflects the unique conditions of the vintage, from the drought-driven concentration of 2023 and 2024 to the more balanced and classical growing season of 2025. Through careful vineyard management and modern winemaking techniques, the team preserves freshness, purity, and varietal expression while allowing the natural character of each vineyard to shine.

The result is a collection of contemporary wines deeply rooted in Parian tradition. Monemvassia reveals vibrant citrus and tropical fruit aromas, mineral freshness, and elegance, while Mandilaria expresses ripe red and black fruit, refined structure, and the distinctive saline signature of the Cyclades.

Today, PFC continues to invest in the future of Paros viticulture through sustainable estate plantings, scientific research, and the active preservation of the island’s oldest vineyards. Every bottle tells the story of a landscape shaped by wind, sea, drought, and generations of vine growers—a true expression of Paros and its unique winemaking legacy.
