Peršolja Wines

The Region Goriska Brda producing its typical wine types (Colio) is an important part of the Primorska region. Its vineyards cover an area of 1900 hectares of land. A combination of pre-Alpine and Mediterranean climates and the rich marly soils offer favorable conditions for the production of exquisite well-balanced varietal wines characterized by pleasantly soft freshness, elegant fruit flavors, and high extract. Winemakers from the region use the most advanced techniques in winemaking and caring, which is a guarantee for their top quality.

From the front side of the Peršolja wine house, there is a magnificent view of the soft wine-growing hills, churches and castles, stretched villages, and the Adriatic Sea. Long ago their ancestors realized that the natural features of the soil and the favourable climatic conditions in the region were just ideal for growing grapes.

Peršolja Winery produces the following wines:

- Rebula: One of the oldest grape varieties in Goriska Brda, Rebula offers a bouquet of ripe fig, apple, and pear, with a harmonious fruit character. It is easily drinkable and also well-suited for dry sparkling wines with the right technological approach.

- Chardonnay: Well-suited to the region, Chardonnay provides bold, rich, and intense fruit flavors of apple, apricot, and pear. Its universal drinkability adds to its popularity.

- Pinot Gris: Known for its distinctive bouquet marked by melon or grapefruit, this wine has become increasingly common in the region. Its rich extract, balance, and elegance are its finest qualities.

- Merlot: The region’s most popular red wine, Merlot features flavors of forest fruits and cut grass, with an intense cherry to carmine red color. It ages into a refined wine with a subtle, graceful taste.

- Cabernet Franc: Increasing in popularity, Cabernet Franc boasts a distinctive cherry to carmine red color and fresh raspberry, currant, and strawberry flavors. With aging, it loses its varietal character and evolves into a subtle, refined wine, ideal for blending.
