I’m Bairradino Rui Lucas, the winemaker behind PRIOR LUCAS. There comes a time in life when we reflect on who we are and what brings us joy. For me, that meant returning to my roots and embracing my heritage. I found my passion in winemaking—a craft that brings me fulfillment from morning until night. In 2013, I created PRIOR LUCAS with a mission to preserve the unique viticultural heritage of my land, which is irreplaceable. This brand allows me to celebrate our long-standing traditions in wine production and share the social joy of drinking wine with the world. Every bottle I produce tells its own story, blending our local history with my personal journey.

The name "PRIOR" has a mystical connection, drawing from religion and the divine. I wanted this sense of mysticism to be present in the wines I create. The initials W, R, S, and P, on the other hand, link to my two passions—rallies and wines—each telling its own part of the larger story. But for the rest of the tale, I invite you to visit and experience it firsthand.

PRIOR LUCAS produces a range of exceptional wines that reflect the richness of Bairrada's terroir. Among the standouts is Fénix 2021, a bold expression of the local varieties, and Habemus R 2021, which showcases the elegance of Baga.
