Authentic Historical Wine Tour You Shouldn't Miss

My husband and I visited the vineyard on Dec 2nd 2025 and I can't say enough about the experience. The decendants of the original owners still reside at the winery and continue to be involved. The winery remains all organic and processes from the grape picking to the wine making are manual. Our tour guide "Patricia" was very knowledgeable an3d an absolute pleasure. The wine tasting paired with local breads and cheeses was a great way to end our afternoon. I highly recommend you make time to visit this vineyard.

A wonderful experience: a visit to the vineyards, the estate, and the cellar, enriched with many anecdotes and curiosities about the family’s history and the area. The guide was very knowledgeable, and to conclude, an excellent tasting with delicious local cheeses paired with their organic wines — truly a fine package of sensations.

About Winery and Wines

Quinta do Olival da Murta is located in Cadaval, one hour from Lisbon, on the north-western slopes of the Serra de Montejunto and close to the Atlantic Ocean.

It's the continuation of a story that goes back five generations of working the land and respecting nature.                 

At Quinta do Olival da Murta, we visit the vineyards and winery, and the Serra Oca wine tasting is accompanied by local produce and a view of the Serra de Montejunto.

Quinta do Olival da Murta cultivates around 15 hectares of vines in organic production, giving rise to Serra Oca wines that are simple, handmade, and representative of our terroir between the mountains and the sea. We only work with Portuguese grape varieties, the reds are Castelão, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional and the whites are Moscatel, Fernão Pires, and Arinto.
