Tenuta Gottardi

Winery in Trento DOC, Cembra Valley

About the Winery

Founded in 2016, Tenuta Gottardi is a testament to the marriage of tradition, passion, and quality, embodying a deep love for the land passed down through generations. Nestled in the picturesque Val di Cembra, a region renowned for its heroic viticulture and over 700 kilometers of historic dry stone walls, Tenuta Gottardi is a place where each grape cluster and every bottle of wine tells a story of sacrifice, dedication, and a profound connection to the land.

The history of Tenuta Gottardi is closely intertwined with the legacy of the Cembra Valley, an area where the prized porphyry stone, known as red gold, has been integral to the region's economic progress. The winery’s roots stretch back to the days when the founders' grandparents worked the land for subsistence, while their children took up the trade of porphyry installation. Today, the latest generations continue this legacy, creating a project that honors their family history through the artful crafting of wines and sparkling wines, each reflecting the unique terroir and rich heritage of the Cembra Valley.

About the Wines

At Tenuta Gottardi, we cultivate Lagrein, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Müller-Thurgau—varietals that find their fullest expression in the unique terroir of Val di Cembra. Our vineyards benefit from the valley’s rich, mineral-laden soils, which impart distinctive characteristics to our wines.

Our portfolio includes both still wines and Trentodoc sparkling wines, each crafted with the aim of showcasing the exceptional qualities of this historic valley. We are dedicated to producing wines that not only reflect the specific terroir of the Cembra Valley but also represent the culmination of a family tradition deeply rooted in the land. Every bottle from Tenuta Gottardi is a tribute to the region’s history, its people, and the unparalleled beauty of Val di Cembra’s winemaking heritage.

Tenuta Gottardi - Great wine!!!!
Tenuta Gottardi is a hidden gem. Nestled in the beautiful, charming town of Cembra, Italy, it delivers a wonderful wine tasting experience. First, the wine: We tasted five different wines. A sparkling white, two whites and two reds. Each was a bursting with flavor. My wife and I kept looking at each other saying, “this is good, this is good . . .” Pleasantly surprised with each wine and ended up purchasing wine at the end of the tour. We will buy more! The tour was led by Angela Gottardi. She met us at the appointed time and was an excellent guide. She explained the wine making process and led us through the beautiful Tenuta Gottardi vineyards. Scenic and peaceful. Angela led us to a table in the vineyard with a delicious assortment of meats, cheeses, honey and bread. There, Angela discussed with us each wine as it was presented for tasting. Very interesting and informative. The tour was an hour and a half and we certainly felt the time went fast. If you are looking for great wine and a personalized wine tasting experience with a beautiful backdrop, Tenuta Gottardi is your destination. Recommend!
Must try is the Pinot Nero! Sparkling white was great and every wine we would purchase.

An excellent experience
Truly a pleasant experience in Val di Cembra: the Gottardi family is truly cordial and pleasant, they took us into their vineyards, very particular because of the conformation of the terrain, and they were truly engaging and exhaustive in the description and story of each of their wines. Their desire to challenge themselves for their winery shines through.
The wines, truly pleasant and particular in their own way for their characteristics (to be discovered!), were accompanied by an abundant platter of cured meats, cheeses, honey and bread.
Truly an excellent tasting.

Excellent sensory experience
Very nice location, easy to get to. The experience began with a visit to the Gottardi vineyards (a few minutes by car). The young woman told us about the company's past and present. We then returned to taste three excellent quality wines (1 sparkling, 1 white, and 1 red). For my 9-year-old son, an elderflower alternative was offered instead, accompanied by local delicacies. All of it always accompanied by various stories and anecdotes. Although in the morning she had called me to move the meeting to the afternoon because of the grape harvest, upon my refusal she was still understanding, very kind and professional and never rushed us the entire time. Congratulations. Recommended.

Enjoyed
We were welcomed very well. Exploring the vineyards is definitely worth it, because in addition to seeing the fields, there is also a story to tell. The tasting went smoothly - with a view of the fields, we had the opportunity to enjoy local wines and snacks.
