Tenuta Querciamatta

Winery in Montalbano

About the Winery

At Querciamatta, our journey into winemaking is driven by a deep passion for the land and its fruits. Located in the unique and challenging terroir of Tuscany, our estate is dedicated to cultivating Sangiovese, the grape that forms the heart of our first two wines—a vibrant rosé and a rich red. We are also excited about our future, with plans to expand into other varietals such as Cabernet Franc, Fogliatonda, and a new clone of Sangiovese that promises to add even more depth and excitement to our offerings.

In addition to our wines, we take pride in our olive oil production. Our estate features 7 hectares of olive groves, where we grow Frantoio and Leccino varieties, along with Moraiolo in the higher, rockier areas. Our commitment to organic farming is evident in our very first harvest in 2019, which we celebrated with our "Anno Zero" collection of organic extra virgin olive oil. At Querciamatta, we invite travelers to experience the beauty and sincerity of our land, expressed through our carefully crafted wines and olive oils.

About the Wines

RED QUERCIAMATTA "D"
This Sangiovese is the cornerstone of Querciamatta, representing the genesis of our winemaking journey. Crafted from grapes grown in two distinct and challenging terroirs—volcanic soils of Miocene origin and sandstone—this red wine embodies the sincerity, beauty, and heart that define our estate. It is a wine born from the rugged landscape, expressing the essence of Tuscany in every sip.

ROSÉ QUERCIAMATTA
Our Rosé Querciamatta is an extraordinary expression of Sangiovese, capturing the magic of the moment when anything is possible. This rosé is light, fresh, and easy-drinking, perfect for those joyous occasions that call for a wine that is both sophisticated and approachable. It's a celebration of the simple pleasures of life, making it an ideal companion for any occasion.

At Querciamatta, each bottle of wine tells the story of our land and our passion, inviting you to share in the journey with every glass.

Highlight of our holiday!
We had an amazing experience, it was a surprise for my Dad’s birthday and he loved it. The tour was so interesting and the lady was lovely and answered all of our questions. The wine was delicious, as was the olive oil. We loved the wine so much we bought some and drank it while there.
We bought some olive oil to take home with us and it is the best I’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be buying some online when we run out!
I can’t think of anything to improve it. It was brilliant and the location was beautiful.

Unexpected, unique, great quality products
The location is completely surrounded by olive trees and vines, obviously, but it’s modern and different from most similar places in the area and that is enough to make it unique and worth visiting. Cristiano, the guy who showed us around and son of the owner, was able to explain the processes behind wine and oil making in a way that is understandable and fun even for non-experts, with lots of fun facts. Because of the quantities and ways the produce oils they have an oil cellar too, and they are proud of it! The tasting is well explained and it is needed, especially with oil as it isn’t as common as wine tasting. Wines are delicious - when you smell and taste you know you are in Tuscany! The area used for the tasting was outside: it’s peaceful and has a spectacular view - they also have an inside tasting room which is worth seeing too!
They have a red wine, called D. It’s a young 100% Sangiovese that reminds us, people from Tuscany, our childhood and home. Worth for you all wine lovers to know as people sometimes travel on the other side of the world to be able to experience that!
