About Winery and Wines

In the land of Sangiovese and Chianti rises Tenuta Sette Ponti, not far from the historic town of Arezzo : nestled in a picturesque rural landscape, crossed by the river Oreno, the estate received its name from Antonio F. Moretti, who wanted to pay homage to the so-called Road Sette Ponti (Seven Bridges), which connects the banks of the River Arno between Florence and Arezzo. The atmosphere that you breathe here is genuine and fascinating of the past, linked to the traditions and life of sharecropping, touched here and there by evolution tied to tradition, that do not alter the charm of a simple and untouched nature. Not surprisingly, the timeless beauty of this landscape has found worthy celebration in the paintings of many artists: even the great Leonardo da Vinci is said to have used this memorable glimpses of the scenery in the background of "La Madonna dei Fusi" first and then "The Gioconda".

If the atmosphere all around the Tenuta Sette Ponti recalls modesty of rural life of the past, the cellar, the heart of Moretti’s property, meets the most modern technological needs and the highest quality research. The wines, produced with the assistance of technicians within the company supported by a team of external consultants, are aged in precious French oak barrels, that give vibrant colors, harmonious flavors, roundness and spicy notes. The wine-making methods are scrupulous and elaborated, as required to a historic Estate, which makes of its passion a real profession, as well as an art. In fact, after extremely careful and scrupulous, entirely manual, care of the vineyards, the grapes undergo a “one by one” manual selection when they arrive in the cellar in order to have the excellence of grapes. An open vat fermentation is preferred along with an accurate squeezing to get the maximum aroma of the grapes. All this leads to Vigna di Pallino, a traditional Chianti interpreted without the use of wood, Crognolo, mostly Sangiovese aged in barriques and Oreno, the company’s flag ship, strong character, great structure, enhanced by nuances of new oak, the result of a well-blended combination of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
