About the Wines

At Tenute Camilleri, we produce a diverse range of Sicilia DOC wines that reflect the unique terroir of our region and the passion we pour into every bottle.

Grillo Sicilia DOC: A white wine that captures the vibrant character of the Grillo grape. It is fresh and aromatic, with notes of citrus and Mediterranean herbs, making it a perfect companion for seafood and light dishes.

Nerello Mascalese Sicilia DOC: This elegant rosé is made from Nerello Mascalese grapes, offering delicate floral and red berry aromas with a crisp, refreshing finish. It’s an ideal choice for summer sipping or pairing with lighter fare.

Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC: A classic Sicilian red, our Nero d'Avola is rich and full-bodied, with flavors of dark cherry, plum, and a hint of spice. It’s a versatile wine that pairs beautifully with hearty meats and traditional Sicilian dishes.

Merlot Sicilia DOC: Our Merlot is smooth and well-rounded, with velvety tannins and notes of ripe berries and subtle oak. It’s a perfect red for those who appreciate a balanced and approachable wine.

Perricone Sicilia DOC: This distinctive red wine, made from the Perricone grape, offers a unique blend of fruit and earthy flavors, with a robust structure that makes it an excellent match for rich, savory dishes.

Nero di Cicco: A red blend that combines the best of Sicily’s indigenous varieties, Nero di Cicco is a complex and harmonious wine with layers of flavor that reveal themselves with each sip.

In addition to producing and selling our wines, Tenute Camilleri offers guided tours of the winery, private events on request, and outdoor aperitifs during the summer months, providing a perfect setting to enjoy our wines amidst the beauty of the Sicilian countryside.

What a treat!!!!!!
Yesterday, my best friend, partner in crime, and love of my life celebrated the last birthday in his 60s. Federico and Guiseppe made it a special day. We have had quite an amount of wine tastings in our lives, in South Africa, the Azores, Germany,....... But this one was very special: a bottle of white wine who came out of a water well , some toasts with olive oil and oregano we found in a ceramic can all over sudden under the olive trees, a "light lunch" which actually ended up to be loads of small typical Sicilian specialities...... tasting 6 different wines out of bottles and the last one from a wooden barrel.
A walk around the vinyard and through the wine cellars, anecdotes, and meeting the whole family made our afternoon perfect. We learned a lot about winemaking in general, winemaking in this specific region, and about winemaking and producing olive oil with the tradition of Federicos and Guiseppes family.
We bought some bottles of wine but fortunately forgot to buy the amazing olive oil.....so we have to go back.....
There are several arrangements, you can book, but I would advise to choose the biggest one. It's absolutly worth the money.: 4 hours of proofing Sicilian food and the really wonderful wines of this vinyard.

And don't forget, like we did, to buy the olive oil........

Highly recommended Tour of a splendid winery
Tenute Camilleri are located just under 30 minutes from the B&B where we were staying off the SS115.
We arrived slightly early and were immediately welcomed by Mr Camilleri and his son in law.
They proceeded to give us an overview of the history of the winery over the past 50 years and what they produced.
Next we had a tasting session of some wonderful olive oils.
Our winery guide arrived and took us around the place.
She spoke both Italian and English so we felt comfortable.
As we went around the place, we had frequent stops with little "surprises" that included wine tasting complemented with fresh local food and snacks.
We then ended up under the shelter of an olive tree where we continued tasting wines and snacking.
Incredibly we ended up quite full and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I love Sicilian wines and try and visit a winery whenever in Sicily.
I suggest that you do this visit any time of the year but avoiding the peak of summer (late July to August) as it can be quite hot.
After finishing, we were offered to buy wine which we did and it is not expensive at all.
Good to see the work that goes into agriculture and the making of wines.
It's a very tough job and not appreciated enough.
Getting there and returning was easy, just drive slowly in the country roads.
Lovely place, lovely people, excellent guide and splendid wine.
Cannot stop recommending it! 5 star.
Maybe in the future the Camilleris might consider using a motorised means of taking people around the winery and fields.
I enjoy walking and loved it, but some others might not be so mobile.

Fantastic experience!
We were welcomed by Mr. Giuseppe and his colleague Sara and we had a wonderful experience.
Interesting location, a facility maintained with care and love by the Camilleri company.
Peppe's passion is evident in his every word or gesture, this is his strong point. Passion and dedication to the family business.
Exceptional wine, the oil even more so. A production that deserves so much.
The tasting delighted us.
We wish everyone all the best and we can't wait to come back.

Great experience
One of the most unique wine tastings we have experienced. Coming from Australia we are used to wine tastings where you are in and out in 45mins. It was wonderful to be given a tour of the vines and winery and learn all about the history of the vineyard. The wines were of high quality and the snacks that were paired with each wine were spot on and showcased the local produce and food. We'd definitely recommend this winery to other people.
