Tenute di Fraternita

Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Tenute di Fraternita is more than a winery, it is a living expression of centuries-old tradition, deep-rooted values, and a passionate commitment to quality.

Our story begins with the Fraternita dei Laici, the most ancient and esteemed public institution in Arezzo, founded in 1263. With over 700 years of history devoted to culture, art, and service to the community, the Fraternita has preserved the land and its legacy through generations. From this vision, Tenute di Fraternita was born: a winery rooted in respect for the environment, the consumer, and the local territory.

Our wines are the result of a close-knit team of agronomist, winemaker, and local workers, all driven by passion, care, and a deep respect for tradition. 

Our passion is not just in what we produce, but in how we produce it, with love for the land, pride in our heritage, and joy in sharing our story with you.

Our 46 hectares of organic vineyards lie in the hills of Civitella in Val di Chiana and Castiglion Fibocchi, within the Chianti DOCG area. The vines, aged between 3 and 40 years, are cultivated using traditional Tuscan methods (short pruning, thinning, and early leaf removal) all focused on producing top-quality grapes.

Since 2014, our entire vineyard has been managed organically. The main variety is Sangiovese, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Canaiolo, Colorino, and white grapes like Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia Bianca, Grechetto, Vermentino, and Chardonnay.

Harvesting is done by hand. Fermentations are spontaneous, using only native yeasts to let the true character of each grape shine.

Our wines are made across two distinct cellars:

A modern winery with temperature-controlled steel tanks, powered by solar energy.

An aging cellar with oak barriques and traditional casks.
We also produce traditional Tuscan vinegar in our dedicated Acetaia.
