About Winery and Wines

Nestled among the hills of Villa Caldari, just minutes from the Costa dei Trabocchi, The Vinum is our family-run organic winery that celebrates the winemaking soul of Abruzzo. Here, the vine rows bask in cool nights rolling down from the Majella and salty Adriatic breezes—a micro-climate that heightens the aromas of native grapes. We grow Montepulciano, Pecorino and Pinot Grigio with low-impact methods that protect biodiversity and soil fertility, ensuring the wine is born in the vineyard itself.

Beyond production, we craft experiences that unite wine and territory: zero-kilometre tastings, themed dinners at our Vinum Senses restaurant, and the tranquillity of our suites, where Abruzzese hospitality blends with countryside silence. Every bottle and every moment tell the authentic story of a region shaped by sea, mountains and farming passion.

The Tale of Five Bottles:

At dawn, when mist still clings to the rows of vines, Pinot Grigio is the first to wake. Like a curious traveler, he wanders the cool air, collecting the scent of pear blossom and the crunch of early-picked apples before slipping into the bottle with a brisk, crisp laugh.

By mid-morning, the sun tilts higher and Pecorino steps forward, white straw hat in hand.  He bends to the wild herbs that edge the vineyard path—rosemary, thyme, a whisper of fennel—and folds their perfumes into his bright citrine heart, ready to dance beside any plate of fish hauled in from the Adriatic.

Just past noon, a sea breeze arrives, and with it the quicksilver spirit of Cococciola.  She is light as a gull’s feather, brushing grapefruit, acacia and a kiss of salt across the tongue, leaving only footprints in the sand and the promise of a second sip.

When afternoon shadows stretch long, Cerasuolo appears in a swirl of cherry-pink skirts.  She carries bowls of pomegranate and rose petals, and though her laughter is playful, there is structure in her stance—a soft reminder that rosé, too, can hold its ground.

Finally, as night settles over Villa Caldari, the eldest sibling, Montepulciano, lights the lanterns in the cellar.  Dark-berried and deep-voiced, he hums of blackberry and spice, gathering the day’s scattered stories into a single, lingering note that echoes against oak and stone.

Five bottles, one family.  Each born of the same organic soil, each telling a chapter of Abruzzo – sea-salt mornings, herb-strewn hills, and the patient, steadfast rhythm of vines that have learned to breathe with both mountain and tide.
