Valle dell'Acate
About the Winery
Valle dell’Acate is a historic winery located in the ancient Bidini estate, among the rolling hills of the Valle del Dirillo in southeastern Sicily. The story of the estate began at the end of the 19th century, when Giuseppe Jacono founded the winery during a period in which Vittoria was a major center for Sicilian wine exports to France. Since then, the Jacono family has passed down its passion for viticulture and winemaking through generations, preserving a strong connection to the land and a vision of bringing Sicilian wines to international prominence.
Today, together with the Ferreri family, Valle dell’Acate represents one of the most important wineries in southeastern Sicily. The estate is deeply rooted in the unique landscape of the Acate-Comiso-Vittoria triangle, an area characterized by fertile plains, dry-stone walls, sandy dunes, and the influence of the nearby Mediterranean Sea. Tradition, respect for nature, and a strong territorial identity define the philosophy of the winery.
About the Wines
The wines of Valle dell’Acate are authentic expressions of southeastern Sicily and its native grape varieties. The winery specializes in cultivating some of the island’s most important autochthonous vines, producing wines of remarkable character, elegance, and identity.
Among its most iconic labels is the prestigious Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG, considered one of Sicily’s greatest wine expressions and the crown jewel of the estate’s production. The unique terroir—marked by varied soils, Mediterranean climate, and the proximity of the sea—gives the wines freshness, complexity, and depth.
By combining a long-standing winemaking tradition with careful vineyard management and modern precision, Valle dell’Acate creates wines that fully reflect the richness of the Ragusa province and the extraordinary diversity of Sicilian viticulture.
