About Winery and Wines

Cantina Sociale Colli Fiorentini has its production center in the valley traversed by the Virginio stream, located in the municipality of Montespertoli. Here, for centuries, human effort and a deep attachment to the land have made viticulture and olive cultivation the cornerstone of the agricultural economy. The Cooperative, established in 1972, acquired the Cantina Sociale Colline d'Elsa in Gambassi Terme in 1988 and the cooperative olive mill Cantina Colli Fiorentini in Montespertoli in 1993.

Today, after 40 years, more than 850 farms, mostly located in the production areas of Chianti DOCG, Chianti Classico DOCG, Toscano IGT, and Olio IGP Toscano, supply their harvests to the Cooperative’s production facilities.

The Cantina processes both native and international grape varieties, such as Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, Ciliegiolo, Malvasia, Merlot, Cabernet, Chardonnay, and others, which the members cultivate in their vineyards with expertise, skill, and dedication. Currently, the vineyards cover approximately 1,500 hectares.

Over 8,000,000 kg of grapes are vinified annually, using traditional methods combined with the most advanced technologies, made possible by investments of more than 10 million euros in recent years. The resulting wines are highly appreciated by consumers in both domestic and international markets, adhering to a long-standing policy of offering high quality at a fair price. With a touch of pride, the Cooperative stands as the world’s largest producer of Chianti.

Particular attention has been devoted to environmental sustainability, making it the first Tuscan cooperative winery to install a photovoltaic system, enabling the production and use of clean energy.

Extra-virgin olive oil production is also of great importance, with olives supplied by the members and processed at the Cooperative's mill. This results in an average annual production of over 300,000 kg.

Our Tuscan excellence stands as the leading representative in Chianti production, proudly claiming the title of the largest producer of this denomination in our region, both in terms of quality and quantity.

In addition to Chianti, we produce an excellent Chianti Riserva, Chianti all’Uso Governo Toscano, and, thanks to our members, we also reach the Chianti Classico area. This allows us to include wines under the Chianti Classico and Chianti Classico Riserva denominations, along with other types of wines such as Supertuscans, white wines, and rosés.

The expression of Sangiovese is further showcased in our sparkling wine line, which is entirely produced in-house thanks to the autoclaves within the winery. Here, you can savor our sparkling wines in Dry, Extra Dry, and Brut versions.

Thanks to the dedication of our members to preserving the land, Rosso Toscano, Chianti, and Chianti Classico are also available in an organic line.
