Welcome to Merlone Giancarlo, where your experience begins with a stunning view over Val Rilate and a glimpse of our historic winery and recently opened accommodation.

You'll be welcomed and guided through the winemaking area, where we’ll explain how red and white grapes are transformed, from pressing to fermentation, using simple, engaging language. You'll also discover how the winery evolved from the first tanks purchased by our grandfather to today’s modern steel ones. The tour continues into our 19th-century aging cellar, where wine rests in barriques and tonneaux, followed by a visit to our ancient ice house – a small surprise we’ll keep until the end!

The tasting takes place in our renovated tasting room or, weather permitting, in the sunny courtyard of Pozzo Fiorito. You’ll enjoy five wines, including Grignolino d’Asti DOC, Barbera d’Asti DOCG, Barbera Superiore or Piemonte Albarossa, and the sweet Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco. The tasting will be paired with local specialties like Val Rilate salami, homemade focaccia, bruschetta, and typical sweets.
