Here is what's in store for you

Day 1: Individual arrival in Francavilla al Mare

Arrival in the afternoon at the country house that will host us. Meeting with the staff for an initial briefing. Test bikes. Relax with an aperitif and tasting at sunset, with local DOC wines. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: From Francavilla al Mare the Colline Teatine wine route

Starting from Francavilla al Mare, the Colline Teatine Wine Road runs through the hills overlooking the Alento valley and then branches off towards Chieti and towards Guardiagrele from where, finally, it returns towards the sea until it reaches Ortona, crossing Crecchio and Orsogna .

Today we will enter the territories of Abruzzo Marrucino, one of the Italian areas that excels for the quantity of wine produced. In addition to the widespread Montepulciano, the Colline Teatine DOP extra virgin olive oil is notable. Along this hilly ridge, we will admire the spectacle of the Maiella without losing sight of the sea, we will meet the village of Ripa Teatina (with the monument dedicated to Rocky Marciano (father Pierino Marchegiano left Ripa Teatina to seek his fortune in America), the village of Bucchianico , medieval center and Fara Filiorum Petri, of Lombard origin.Tasting in the Fabulas farm.Arrival at the residence, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: From Fara Filiorum Petri the Colline Teatine wine route

Direction Maiella, the mother mountain for the second day of excursion. We will reach the villages of Orsogna crossing the wine territory of the province of Chieti which here reaches very high peaks of quality. We will head towards the mountain and with a continuous ups and downs, passing from Rapino and the hamlet of Bocca di Valle up to the village of Guardiagrele, famous for its wrought iron work, on the slopes of the Maiella National Park. After discovering the village, we will head towards Orsogna with a tasting stop in the Orsogna cellar.

The distance today will be 35 km (22 miles) and an elevation gain of 740 mt (2430 ft)

Day 4: From Orsogna the Colline Teatine wine route

Excursion on the Teatine hills between vineyards and nature, which will lead us to learn about the history of the place through visits to villages such as Arielli, the castle and the village of Crecchio, a place that in 1943 hosted the Royal Family of Savoy and the entire General Staff, fleeing Rome to Brindisi and the City of Wine of Tollo, where a very good tasting overlooking the sea at the Feudo Antico will not be missing, with labels that reach peaks of excellence. Return to the sea of ​​Francavilla to return to the residence for a last convivial moment. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Departure
