Begin the tour by immersing yourself in the atmosphere of the ancient Terreiro do Paço (current Praça do Comercio), to hear unique stories about Portugal and the cultural significance of this square. From here, you will move towards the oldest café in Lisbon, "Martinho da Arcada". This establishment has witnessed a tide of historical change - statesmen, politicians, artists, writers, and poets (including Fernando Pessoa) have all spent time between these walls. Here, you will taste two Portuguese white wines (from the mineral and Atlantic side of the country) and one special Portuguese wine (that is a surprise!) paired with house-made pastel de bacalhau (codfish fritters) and croquet de carne (beef croquette).
You will then stroll through the streets of Lisbon and its winding alleyways, to relive the most authentic neighborhood in town - Alfama! With its monuments, the beautiful "azulejos", and the culture of the Fado music, these streets are famous for a reason. Here you will taste the delicious Portuguese liquor: a sip of "Ginjinha" to get a feel for the spirit of the place!
Finally, you will end your afternoon at a typical Portuguese tasca. With a charming atmosphere and local clientele, "A Muralha Vinhos e Tapas" is the perfect finale for this tour. Here you will try two iconic Portuguese red wines (terroir is the key!) and a fresh and fragrant Portuguese fortified wine (an ancient heritage) paired with local bread, olives, cheeses, and traditional Portuguese sausages.
