Bairrada is a renowned wine region celebrated for its exceptional still and sparkling wines, primarily crafted from its flagship grape, Baga. On this tour, you’ll experience both types of wine while savoring the region’s most beloved dish: roast suckling pig.
Your day will start at a historic Bairrada Wine Estate, one of the pioneers in the region, known for introducing innovative techniques in producing sparkling and table wines. You’ll indulge in Bairrada’s signature dish – roast suckling pig – at a local restaurant for lunch. If that doesn’t suit your palate, don’t worry, there are plenty of other traditional Portuguese dishes to enjoy!
In the afternoon, you’ll visit a classic sparkling wine cellar with over 80 years of history. Explore its tunnels, home to 2 million bottles of sparkling wine, and learn about the production and aging process. The visit concludes with a tasting of white and red DOC Bairrada wines and sparkling wine. The tour will wrap up at a final Wine Estate, where you’ll experience the passion and dedication passed down through three generations of winemaking.
