Cru Wine Tasting with a Local Platter at Rosset Terroir in Quart
Here is what's in store for you
Your experience at Rosset Terroir begins as you are greeted by a professional sommelier, who will be your guide for the entire visit. The tour starts with the story of the estate, its winemaking philosophy, and the distinct terroir of the Aosta Valley. You'll learn how the Alpine landscape and high-altitude vineyards shape the identity of Rosset Terroir's heroic viticulture.
You will then explore the winery, including the barrel cellar. From a viewing point, you'll see the areas with stainless steel tanks and traditional clay amphorae, giving you a complete overview of the production process. After the tour, you'll take a seat in the tasting room for a guided tasting of six mountain wines: four from the classic range and two Cru wines, chosen according to seasonal availability.
The classic range may include:
- Trasor, a red blend of native and international grapes
- Cornalin, a structured, rustic red from a signature native variety
- Nebbiolo, an elegant red aged in large wooden vats
- Prémisse, a fresh, vertical white with vibrant acidity
- Petite Arvine, a saline, high-altitude white
- Chambave Muscat or Pinot Gris, aromatic whites shaped by glacial soils
The two Cru wines showcase the estate's finest high-altitude parcels:
- Sopraquota 900 Chardonnay, grown above 900 metres and aged in terracotta amphorae
- Pinot Noir 850 or Syrah 870, refined reds expressing the freshness of their altitude
The tasting is paired with a platter of traditional Aosta Valley products, such as mocetta, boudin, local sausages, Fontina, and Toma Valdostana, served with breadsticks. For children and teenagers, Aosta Valley apple juice is served with the same local platter.
