Such a beautiful place!!! 360 degree views of the mountains. The wines were dry...to my liking, although they had some sweeter and off-dry ones, too. The staff was delightfully friendly and knowledgeable. We brought cheese an charcuterie and enjoyed it on the beautiful terrace with a nice wine. Truth be told, we then relaxed in Adirondack chairs, and just might have dozed off, relaxed by a bit of wine, food, the sun, a delightful breeze and spectacular vista. Hard to know which way to face your chair! My new favorite winery!!!

A stunning setting; chose to visit Afton Mountain as one of the few wineries we could spend time at during our weekend get-away to the region, even though it meant driving a bit further. We planned to wrap up the day with their evening concert event

Mediocre tasting experience, staff basically poured the wine, said

Unprofessional and rude. The brunette server with glasses stopped servicing our group mid tasting to talk to someone else for 15 minutes while we just stood there waiting. No I'm sorry, excuse me, no nothing. Abandoned us on two separate occasions for other parties. Didn't give us our glasses at the end of the tasting. Seemed clueless about the vineyard policies on glasses with tastings. Just down the road you have several vineyards that provide much better service and glasses. I had planned on purchasing a few bottles, like i did from veritas and few others but due to the rude treatment I won't be recommending this vineyard to any of my friends. Come for the views if you must but avoid if you like good service. One star for location.

An awesome winery to go and enjoy some of the finest wine in Central VA, awesome staff who takes Great pride in service and trying to keep customers happy. The sceneries of the mountains, pond, vines, etc. just an A Place.

Pollak Vineyards IN WESTERN ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA, has seriously good wines throughout their list, and it is a surprise and delight to visit. The Pollack Winery itself is a very modern structure which I had some while ago admired from a distance from the lower Scenic Lookout on Afton Mountain--at that time I could only speculate on what it was, and admire the cleanness of its architecture--but if there was ever a winery worth a visit, here it is! I only wish I could have tried their Cabernet Sauvignon, but evidently it was so good they are completely out of it! What they DO have is a wide variety of wines exhibiting well the characteristics of each variety while exceeding expectations in each. So it is with great confidence that I commend Margo and David Pollak for their achievement, and recommend a visit for anyone who appreciates fine wine. I took a number of photographs while there, of the pond, of the scenery, of the Winery and the Vineyard. This is a place to relax and enjoy both the view and the wine. Fresh bread, cheese and hard salami or prosciutto are available to enjoy with the wine, but this is not a restaurant or a hotel, and any pets you choose to bring must be on a leash at all times for a number of excellent reasons--not least so that others may enjoy this beautiful place in peace. The staff is intelligent and attentive, without any of the snottiness that seems to have crept into staff at several other (unmentionable) Virginia wineries. The staff at Pollak Vi

Amazing food and great wine. Go for the desserts. Homemade gelato is so worth it. Very unique seasonal flavors

My wife took me here for my birthday and I could not have asked for a better birthday afternoon. The winner was delicious and the tasting educational. Then we went out on the porch and had several incredible dishes along with a bottle of the wine that we enjoyed most from the tasting. The best part may have been the view, though, to be honest. It was so beautiful and relaxing. It definitely made the whole experience.
