“Das einzigartige Erlebnis, die klassischen Weine des Valpolicella in einer geschichtsträchtigen und kunstvollen venezianischen Villa zu verkosten.”

Über das Weingut und die Weine

Palazzo Montanari is a family-run winery based in a Venetian Villa with a tower dating back to the 14th century. Located on the hill of Bure, in the heart of Valpolicella Classico wine region, the villa and the hunting lodge in the highest part of the vineyard offer an amazing view of the valley. It is the perfect place to discover the territory, taste our wines and enjoy art and history, thanks to frescoes of considerable value. Palazzo Montanari has now been  beautifully  renovated  and  provides  seven welcoming  accommodation with  modern  facilities  while  still  retaining its  original  charm.

Palazzo Montanari continues with its ancient vocation, producing prestigious wines Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone, Recioto and extra virgin olive oil. An important part of the villa is the brolo, a natural amphitheater with rows of vines situated on the classic dry stoned-wall terraces which, facing towards the south east, are particularly sunny and benefit from a breeze that blows up the Fumane valley in the morning and down the valley in the evening. The dry limestone terrain is rich in structure and guarantees an exceptional quality of grapes, essential for wines of great class.

Massimo Nicolis grew up in a family dedicated to the production of wine and inherited from his father Angelo and mother Natalia his passion, competence and secrets for producing optimum wine. Now, together with his wife Susanna and their three children Giulia, Andrea and Anna, along with his sister Mariella, he manages the cantina of Palazzo Montanari, whilst dedicating himself to the continuous restauration and conservation of the villa to create a unique environment where past and present meet in harmony.
