Über das Weingut und die Weine
A rural Italian idyll, Umbria is a region of pristine green hills, traditional villages, and exceptional food and wine production. Here, days slow down; a life of good food and quality time with friends and family that has hardly changed in 500 years. It was this authenticity and character that inspired the owners to invest in Torre Bisenzio. A run-down former farming estate infused with Umbrian charm and tradition, which, over the years, has regained its place in the region as a working organic farm, also dedicated to preserving the historic indigenous white cattle breed Chianina. The winemaking philosophy of Torre Bisenzio is simple: tradition, authenticity, quality, and innovation. The Winery of Torre Bisenzio, rebuilt inside a traditional farmhouse, is the embodiment of that ethos. From the traditional use of amphora and steel tanks to the many sustainability features, to the proper aging of wines in French oak barrels, the wines of Torre Bisenzio have a style, identity and nuance that reflect the history of the terroir.
With 650 olive trees, 5 hectares of vines and 265 hectares of land (175 owned and 90 rented), the estate produces red and white wines, a fragrant, high-quality olive oil, and organic vegetables in the gardens of the Villas. All of Torre Bisenzio's wines are biodynamically certified, produced with hand-picked grapes from their vineyards, and processed using the latest technology.
