Tre Monti is a winery rooted in the hills of Romagna, with two separate estates: one in the hills surrounding Imola and the other between Castrocaro and Predappio. Together, the properties cover approximately 50 hectares, entirely dedicated to vineyards.

A detailed zoning study carried out in 1999 revealed considerable variations in soil composition, sometimes even within the same vineyard. This led Tre Monti to divide its land into smaller micro-zones, developing a detailed understanding of the characteristics of each individual site.

This knowledge has become central to the estate's approach to viticulture. Grape varieties are planted according to their compatibility with specific soils and vineyard conditions, allowing each parcel to express its individual character and contributing to the quality and diversity of the grapes produced across the two estates.

The wines of Tre Monti originate from a mosaic of different soils and micro-zones across its vineyards in Imola, Castrocaro, and Predappio. Rather than treating the estate as a single homogeneous vineyard area, the winery works according to the individual characteristics of each parcel.

Careful matching of grape varieties, soils, and vineyard sites allows Tre Monti to obtain grapes with different aromatic profiles, structures, and expressions. This parcel-focused approach provides the foundation for a diverse range of wines that reflects the varied terroirs of the Romagna hills.
