Discover the World of Olive Oil at Belfiore Farm
Here is what's in store for you
You are welcomed to the agriturismo at Belfiore Farm, where the experience begins with a brief introduction to the activities of the day and an overview of the world of olive cultivation, including traditional farming methods and local olive varieties.
The experience continues with a visit to the olive grove, offering breathtaking views over the lower Val di Magra, the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago (Capraia and Gorgona), the village of Castelnuovo Magra, and the town of Sarzana. During the walk, you will discover the history and geography of the area, from Roman times to the present day.
You will then learn about the organoleptic characteristics of extra virgin olive oil, exploring both its qualities and defects through a guided tasting of oils from different Italian regions and olive varieties.
The experience concludes with a food and olive oil pairing session featuring typical dishes from the lower Lunigiana area. Each dish is paired with a monovarietal extra virgin olive oil from Eastern Liguria or Upper Tuscany, including Leccino, Prempesa, Razzola, Frantoio, and Moraiolo, allowing you to discover the unique aromas and characteristics of each variety.

Where we are and how to reach us
The Belfiore farm is located on a hillside, at Via Montefrancio 1565, and can be reached via a paved road about 1 km from the village of Castelnuovo Magra.
There is a parking area available that can accommodate approximately 10 cars. The farm can be accessed by private car and/or taxi. Public transport reaches the village of Castelnuovo Magra; from there, the farm can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes.
