Join us on a visit to the famous Douro Valley, an absolute must for anyone traveling to Portugal!
At 8:15-08:30, you will depart from Porto to make the most of your trip. After one hour on the road, you will arrive at a wine estate, where you will learn about the winemaking process and the diverse selection of wines they offer. Indulge in wine tastings that highlight the rich flavors and traditions of the region. Additionally, savor other regional products such as almonds, olive oil, honey, and bread. At noon, you can choose to take a river cruise (not included in the price). You will arrive at the designated dock for your scenic boat cruise along the Douro River. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the vineyard-covered landscapes and immerse yourself in the beauty of the region. Take photos, relax, and soak in the unique perspective of the Douro Valley from the water.
At 2:00 pm, you will take a break to savor a traditional meal at a wine estate, at a restaurant or you can choose an option of a picnic by the vineyards. Depending on your preferences, choose a small wine estate with picturesque vineyards for a delightful lunch experience or a sophisticated restaurant. Enjoy authentic regional cuisine paired with local wines, immersing yourself in the flavors and ambiance of the Douro Valley. Take your time to relax, savor the food, and soak in the serene atmosphere of the vineyard surroundings.
Later, we will depart to the Vinho Verde region and stop at a charming local tavern known for its exceptional Verde wines, charcuterie, and cheeses. Immerse yourself in the local culture as you sample the distinct flavors of the region. Engage in conversations with locals, if possible, to learn more about their traditions and experiences. Bid farewell to the Douro Valley and start your journey back to Porto. Enjoy the scenic drive while reflecting on the wonderful experiences of the day. Arrive back in Porto, where you can spend the rest of the evening exploring the city or relaxing after a fulfilling day in the Douro Valley.
