Valpolicella Full-Day Tour from Verona with Lunch & Amarone Tasting

Your day begins in Verona, where you'll meet your local guide and wine expert for the trip into the Valpolicella region. The scenic drive winds through vineyards and small villages to the first of two selected family-run wineries.
At each estate, you will be welcomed by the producers themselves or their team for a tour of the vineyards and cellars. You'll learn about the stages of the winemaking process, from fermentation to barrel aging, with a focus on the unique 'appassimento' technique used to create Amarone. The tastings take place in a dedicated room or an atmospheric underground cellar.
Across the two visits, you will taste a total of 8 wines, exploring different expressions of the territory. The selection includes Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella Superiore, Ripasso, and multiple vintages of Amarone. You will also taste a freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil at one of the wineries.
The day includes a traditional lunch at the second estate. You'll start with a board of local cured meats like Sopressa and cheeses such as Monte Veronese, followed by a seasonal pasta dish like tortellini or gnocchi. The meal concludes with sbrisolona, a traditional almond cake, and dark chocolate, all paired with the estate's wines. After a day dedicated to the food and wine of Valpolicella, your guide will drive you back to Verona.

Sin embargo, la verdadera estrella del día fue nuestra guía, Sara, de *Your Local Guide SNC*. Sara, sumiller de vinos italianos declarada, fue absolutamente maravillosa. Era encantadora, ingeniosa, simpática y muy atenta a cada pregunta que le hacíamos. Su excelente dominio del inglés facilitó el seguimiento del tour, y logró el equilibrio perfecto entre ser cercana e informativa sin llegar a ser socialmente abrumadora. Su pasión por los vinos italianos y la región de Valpolicella fue evidente durante todo el día.
Las bodegas que visitamos eran impresionantes, cada una con su propio carácter único y un entorno espectacular. Las catas de vino fueron excepcionales, siendo las selecciones de Amarone particularmente memorables. Cada vino que probamos era simplemente divino. El almuerzo en la Locanda fue otro punto álgido, con una deliciosa cocina regional que maridaba a la perfección con los vinos.
Nos fuimos con un aprecio mucho más profundo por los vinos de Valpolicella y recomendaríamos encarecidamente este tour a cualquiera que visite Verona.
