Hosted by a family member at the historic estate in São João d'Azenha, this experience reflects 4 generations of family heritage, today carried forward by Manuel José Costa and João Luís Costa. It is designed for wine enthusiasts who appreciate heritage, architectural beauty, and the deep bonds between local winemaking families.

Your visit begins with a guided tour of the property. You will explore the estate’s unique Neo-Manueline revival architecture and discover its private collections, showcasing centuries of regional history through antique bottles, ceramics, historic corkscrews, and wine-related memorabilia.

After the tour, you will sit down in the estate tasting room for a guided tasting of 4 selected wines and 1 rare cellar surprise, structured to tell the story of Quinta da Grimpa and the wider Bairrada region.

The tasting includes:

- 2 Quinta da Grimpa signature wines: two estate wines that offer a deep dive into Quinta da Grimpa’s Vinho Integral philosophy. Vinho Integral is the estate’s Chardonnay, produced with a low-intervention approach to showcase the pure, unmanipulated expression of the estate’s terroir.

- 2 Confrade selections: two red wines crafted by close friend-winemakers in the Bairrada region, offering you a broader view of the area’s exceptional terroirs. These selections may rotate to provide a different experience and adapt the tasting to your preferences.

- 1 rare cellar surprise: a final special pour from the estate’s private reserve. Depending on your profile and availability, this will be either an old, rare Aguardente (local spirit) or a mature Espumante (long-aged sparkling wine).

Each pour is accompanied by selected regional pairings to complement the tasting. The exact selection may vary according to the season and local availability, but may include traditional products such as artisanal cheeses, marmelada, and savory bola de carne, a Portuguese meat bread.
