Etruscany Natural Wine in the Jar Experience in the Hills of Arezzo
Here is what's in store for you
Just 10 km from Arezzo, on the slopes of the Casentino Valley, Etruscany invites you to discover a unique world of natural winemaking inspired by ancient Etruscan traditions.
The experience begins with a visit to the estate’s historic vineyard, recognized as the first officially registered “heroic and historic” vineyard in the Arezzo area. Surrounded by nature, you’ll learn about the principles of permaculture, the relationship between plants, and the eight grape varieties cultivated on the estate.
The journey continues through the winery’s two cellars, where modern natural winemaking techniques meet ancient practices. You’ll discover wines fermented under different lunar phases, amphora vinification inspired by Etruscan traditions, and the fascinating “jar hill,” where amphorae are buried several meters underground, just as they were centuries ago, before the existence of cellars.
The experience concludes with a guided tasting of three wines, including one aged in amphora, paired with three dishes inspired by the recipes of Apicius and prepared with seasonal local ingredients.
A truly authentic wine experience where history, nature, and ancient winemaking traditions come together in the heart of Tuscany.
