My friends & I have a lovely visit to the Hahndorf Hill Winery. The view are gorgeous; the staff were knowledgeable and attentive, but did not hover. Between us, we enjoyed the Chocovino experience with both red & white wines, and a cheese platter. Would highly recommend a visit to HHW.

They charge $5 for wine tasting. I only drink red and would be happy to pay this if they had a big selection of reds but all they had was two. They didn't offer to lower the tasting price because I wouldn't be tasting the four whites they had available nor give me more tasting for my money even though I made it very clear I will only be tasting the reds. I didn't buy a bottle out of pure dislike after driving out especially to their winery and being charged $5 for two of the tiniest sips of wine, I would have been better tasting their wine at a pub where I would get more value for money. This is the first time I've ever paid for a wine tasting at a winery. Whilst I'm not completely opposed to paying I don't wineries should be profiteering from people making the effort to come see what they have to offer. The whole experience has completely put me off this wine.

Fantastic wines, friendly staff and lovely surroundings. The winemakers too are lovely people. Have no issue with being charged $5 for a tasting either these days, the winemakers put so much of effort into making the wines and then to take the time out to discuss them with you and explain the differences between them. Why not. Highly recommended!

Lovely place to visit, a good selection of wines and the pizzas were delicious. A very popular place so it is worth booking if eating there.

Nice little off-the-beaten-track winery tucked away in Lobethal. Good value for wines at around $25/bottle at the Cellar door. Great taste, nice atmosphere, stunning views and for the most part friendly waitstaff.

Excellent wines for a good price, perfect venue for anything

Really good wines, I don't think there's a Golding I wouldn't drink. The cellar door has a really cosy feel especially winter with the wood fire burning. One that I frequently recommend to those visiting the hills.
