Herlig plass for en god lunch med god mat og god vin. Hyggelig personal, her var en velkommen.

Ein wirklich tolles Erlebnis. Leckeres Essen, herrlicher Wein und freundliches Personal. Die Führung lohnt sich ebenfalls. Und die Lage ist grandios. Für kleine Kinder könnte es etwas langweilig werden. Anders als Google Maps glaubt, ist die Zufahrt von Westen.

VILLA CALCINAIA is owned by the Capponi family, and Count Sebastiano Capponi is the manager of the Estate and winemaker together with Mr. Federico Staderini. The winery is an historic property of the Chianti Classico area, and it has been in Capponi family since 1524. The form of agriculture is organic. In recent years Count Sebastiano Capponi has added a second and a third lines of Chianti Classico for the Horeca sector to the traditional Villa Calcinaia line and here is a brief description:

We spent 4 days at Vicchiomaggio, early October 2015, and it was an excellent location to have as a base to tour around Tuscany, taking you into the heartland of the rolling hills and valleys of this beautiful area. Good food, great wine, from their vinyards of course. Great accommodation, and loads of culture left from the last century. A must see place, to experience.

Top place, beautiful setting in the castle for lunch which consisted of Pappardelle with wild boar sauce and Mains was Beef Ragu with thin beans and roast potato

Have a feeling that the winery is the main business concern here and guests are treated as second fiddle. Breakfast is mediocre and there is zero atmosphere in the dining room. Staff walking around the complex were generally unfriendly. However the infinity pool is brilliant. Shame they shut it for cleaning for 2 hours in the middle of a Sunday afternoon when it was 35 degrees and there were half the hotel guests around the pool totally puzzled as to why this couldn't have been done at another time! Staff completely unapologetic, lied to my face saying the pool always gets cleaned then and I should check the rules, I did and the rules said Thursday! Finally hotel manager came down to pool to unenthusiastically apologise, giving the impression it was somehow 'our fault'!?! Wouldn't stay again unless all staff were replaced with people who were customer focused!

I was there September 2006 with my wife and cousins Salvatore and Angela,on our tour going to Firenze.Wonderful place I will love to go back again.Ciao Italy.
