Held my Dad's 70th at the restaurant...

Held my Dad's 70th at the restaurant there. Great experience. Beautiful space, good food and really friendly staff. Best part was how accommodating Tahbilk were to work with. Most places are very rigid with the packages they offer, but Zack, the manager, was super flexible and we got exactly what we wanted.

Steeped in a long history of wine making with heritage buildings, family history display, and a lot of antique equipment on the grounds. Definitely make sure you go downstairs into the cellar.

Very scenic location on the river.

A great selection of wines plus some that are quite unique e.g. Marsanne, Rousanne etc.

Excellent, delicious meal and service. Clearly the chef and kitchen team deliver a very high standard of restaurant dining equal or better than many top Melbourne restaurants, IMHO. Definitely recommend and will return soon.

À propos du vignoble et des vins

Established in 1860 Tahbilk is one of Australia's most beautiful and historic family owned wineries. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria (120kms north of Melbourne), one of the nation's premium viticultural areas, the property comprises some 1,214 hectares of rich river flats with a frontage of 11 kms to the Goulburn River and 8 kms of permanent backwaters and creeks. Purchased by the Purbrick family in 1925, Tahbilk is now home to 5 generations.

Le terroir est bien adapté à la viticulture et la région connaît un climat plus frais et plus modéré que ce que l'on pourrait croire à première vue, en raison de l'influence des nombreux lacs et lagunes que l'on trouve dans toute la région. C'est la seule région viticole australienne, et l'une des six au monde, où le méso-climat est fortement influencé par les masses d'eau intérieures.
